Matched started off with the normal speed and tenacity, that the vipers are used to playing. In the opening minutes Jay scores a goal for Gt Notley Vipers. This is result of great team play and passing of the ball.
Immediately Danbury respond by applying the pressure onto our defence, Jordan cleared the lines well to launch a counter attack on the Danbury defence.
With in minutes of the vipers attacking the Danbury area, Danbury turn it around and equalise the score 1 all now game on.
Jay and Ollie take the kick off, Bradley plays the ball deep into Danbury territory and is picked up by Jay on the left wing to launch an attack. Jay crossed the ball into the Danbury area and is cleared by the Danbury defence for a throw in, Connor takes the throw in to Jay. Ball cleared out by Danbury. Danbury turns the pressure onto our defence again and Jordan clears the lines and plays the ball to Connor, this is then played to jay that takes a shot at goal and just misses. Goal kick Danbury.
Bradley takes the ball well from the Danbury goal kick and plays it down to Jamie Coe, who has a lot of pressure and the ball, goes out for a Danbury throw in.
Jamie Coe wins the ball from the line out and plays it down field, Danbury clears again for another throw in.
Substitutes being made Jamie Coe, Connor, Jay and Ollie are off the pitch, going on is Michael, Jack, Lewis and Jamie Wardley. Jack takes the throw in and the ball is won by Danbury who responds with a goal.
Score 2-1 to Danbury.
The vipers kick off and immediately Michael takes a shot at goal, which is cleared up by the Danbury keeper.
Danbury take the goal kick and put Cameron to the test, Cameron tidy’s the ball up and plays it out to Jamie Wardley. Who in turn plays the ball thru to Michael who misses the Danbury goals narrowly?
Danbury immediately respond with another goal score now 3-1 to Danbury.
Lewis and Michael take the kick off, played back to Bradley who plays the ball down into the Danbury area, this is immediately returned and Danbury test the vipers defence again. Jordan clears the ball to Jamie Wardley who plays the Ball down the line to Michael, who uses his strength to keep the Danbury defender of the ball, Michael plays the ball back into the midfield, that is received by Jamie Wardley who plays the ball down to Bradley then onto Jack who takes a shot at the Danbury goal, saved by the Danbury keeper.
Half time whistle blows.
Changes to the team for the second half.
Jordan takes over as Captain from Bradley.
Jay and Ollie back on and Michael and Lewis off.
The vipers kick off the second half with an attack straight on the Danbury area being led by Connor down the wing playing the ball into Jay who scores his second goal of the game. Score 3-2 Danbury.
Danbury immediately respond with a attack on the vipers goal, well saved by Cameron, kick quickly taken to Connor who plays the ball to Jay who quickly plays the ball into the Danbury area. Cleared by the Danbury defence straight back to Jay who plays the ball to Connor then onto Ollie, who plays the ball across the Danbury area straight to Jack who takes a shot at the goal very close.
Substitution being made players off Ollie, Jack and Jamie Wardley, players going on Lewis, Michael and Jamie Coe.
Danbury goal kick and straight away they take a shot at goals, hitting the post.
The vipers immediately respond with some fluent ball play and passing and Jay scores a hat trick. Score 3 all.
Danbury responds and tests Cameron’s goal keeping, nice save by Cameron.
Cameron takes the kick which is intercepted by the Danbury striker who scores a goal, 4-3 to Danbury.
Vipers kick off long ball by Connor thru to Jay, who plays it into the area. Danbury clear there lines.
Final whistle blown score 4-3 to Danbury.
Man of the Match: Was presented to Jay Smith, who put the disappointment of scoring an own goal behind him to lead the Vipers in a nail biting comeback with three tremendous goals. Jay's tireless work rate and lethal finishing was justifiably rewarded today. Well done and keep up the hard work!
Saturday’s effort award was presented to captain Bradley Raymond who excelled in the drills with some neat dribbling and good speed. Brad also showed good composure on the ball whilst under pressure and awareness of others during the training game at the end of Saturday's session.
