Academy Development Team - Players aged 4 and 5
First outing for the older players
GNFC U6's victorious on first outing!
Despite the cold and wet conditions the GNFC U6's put in a great team effort to record a memorable away victory against a fighting Feering Falcons team. After a few anxious moments early on the Great Notley supporters were treated to some excellent attacking football and the team were rewarded with a well taken goal from a corner setpiece. Feering Falcons came back strongly but Great Notley held on to the lead through some determined defending and great goalkeeping. It was only a matter of time before Great Notley added another two quick goals through some exciting build up play.
Feering Falcons came back strongly and managed to break the dogged Notley defence to claw back a well deserved goal. Notley were unfazed after conceding the goal and put together a well worked team effort to register another great strike to put the game beyond Feering's reach. Feering never gave up though and managed to scramble another goal late on but in the end Great Notley were deserved winners by 4 goals to 2. Well done to all the boys and thanks to all the Great Notley supporter's for braving the cold and wet conditions!
Team Assesment:
George: Made some great saves and kept us in the game early on
Sam: Also made some crucial saves especially late on when Feering were coming back strongly
Jake: Tower of strength in defence and made some key tackles
Josh F: Very strong on the ball and always in the thick of things
Max: Got stuck in and showed some good touches
Joe: Showed promise and made an impact
Connor: Good allround play and made some telling passes
Josh D: Good work rate and commitment on the ball
Ollie B: Great defence and great link play
James: Livewire on the field both in defence and attack
Ollie N: Good link play and defended well
Jack: Ever present and took his goal with composure
Player of the match : the entire team!!
Well done again boys .... see you all next weekend!

To join the Academy please contact Secretary@gn-fc.com. Membership is an annual fee of £55 payable as a one off fee at the start of the season. Training takes place on Great Notley Green on Saturday mornings.
